Objective:
To cooperate in development of an electric powered unmanned robotic platform applicable to open-space agricultural field and controlled environment agriculture (CEA) in support of U.S. horticulture and greenhouse producers through enhanced productivity, reduced labor and targeted chemical treatments.
Approach:
In this project, the ARS cooperator will work collaboratively to adapt an existing platform concept, which was developed under a previous project, from diesel/hydraulic for Citrus Under Protective Screen (CUPS) to electric for controlled environment agriculture (CEA). The cooperator and ARS will adapt concepts from the earlier work, to fulfil the objectives of this agreement.
